Jack Lavoie band

Jack Lavoie grew up in Quebec City and was raised in an active and creative, bi-cultural and bilingual family. True to the classic story, he first fell into music with his brother as a teenager when they pooled their resources and shared a single guitar. Lavoie followed his fingers and heart into writing, composing and performing his own songs. This path led him to record his debut album New Warning in 2003 and from this album his song REASON was awarded an honorable mention in the 2004 John Lennon Song Writing Contest. Released in July 2006, Lavoie’s second album La Pura Vida produced two Billboard World Song Contest acclaimed songs in A Fine Summer's Day and The Simple Things. On June 1st, 2009, Lavoie launched his song for peace Bring Your Boys Home from the John and Yoko suite at Montreal's Queen Elisabeth Hotel to mark the 40 th anniversary of John and Yoko's recording of Give Peace a Chance. His song HEAL was chosen to be a part of the David Suzuki's 2011 Playlist for the Planet. 2014 was marked by the bands rocking performance in front of over 25,000 festival goers at Festivent in Levis. 2014 also saw their YouTube channel pass over 600,000 views. .
